Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how FoodSensei handles personal information for the public landing page, waitlist experience, beta communications, and direct owner contact.

The full FoodSensei app is still in development. Before any beta feature collects meal photos, nutrition logs, symptom notes, health patterns, or similar sensitive information, we will update this policy and explain the new data practices clearly.

Information we collect

The current landing page waitlist flow confirms your email in the browser so you can see the signup experience. It does not send the email address to a FoodSensei server in this version unless a connected waitlist provider or form endpoint is added later.

If waitlist collection is connected, or if you contact us directly, we may collect the information you choose to provide.

• Email address and signup source, such as whether you joined from the main waitlist form or footer form.
• Messages, requests, beta feedback, and any contact details you include when emailing us.
• Basic technical information generated when the site is loaded, such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referrer, approximate location from IP address, and timestamps. This is typically processed by hosting, security, and logging providers.

Health and sensitive information

The public landing page is not a medical record system and does not currently collect meal photos, food scans, health records, medication details, symptoms, diagnoses, biometric data, or wearable data.

Please do not send urgent medical information or emergency requests to FoodSensei. The product is intended to support personal health tracking and pattern review, not to provide emergency care or replace professional medical advice.

How we use information

We use personal information only for practical product and communication purposes.

• To respond to questions, deletion requests, and owner contact.
• To send beta invitations, product updates, and launch information if you asked to receive them.
• To operate, secure, debug, and improve the landing page and beta experience.
• To understand aggregate interest in FoodSensei, such as which pages or signup sources are working.
• To comply with legal, security, or fraud-prevention obligations.

Legal bases where required

Where privacy laws require a legal basis for processing, we rely on consent for optional beta communications, legitimate interests for operating and improving the site, legal obligations when we must comply with applicable law, and your request when you contact us or ask us to take an action.

You can withdraw consent for beta communications or ask us to delete your contact information at any time.

Cookies, analytics, and similar technologies

FoodSensei does not intentionally use advertising cookies or cross-site behavioral advertising on this landing page.

Hosting, security, or analytics tools may process technical logs or set strictly necessary technologies to keep the site available, measure performance, prevent abuse, or diagnose errors. If we add optional analytics, pixels, or marketing cookies later, we will update this policy and provide any consent or opt-out controls required by law.

How information is shared

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate the site, collect waitlist entries, send email, host the product, provide analytics, prevent abuse, or respond to legal and security needs. These providers are expected to use the information only to provide services to FoodSensei.

• Service providers, such as hosting, form, email, analytics, customer support, and security vendors.
• Legal, safety, and compliance recipients if required to comply with law, enforce rights, prevent fraud, or protect users.
• Business transfer parties if FoodSensei is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate privacy protections.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, unless a longer period is required for legal, security, or recordkeeping reasons.

Waitlist and contact information, if collected, is kept until the beta period ends, you ask us to delete it, we no longer need it, or we replace it with a more formal account system. Technical logs are generally kept for shorter periods determined by hosting, security, and analytics settings.

Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or an opt-out from certain uses of personal information.

You can make a request by emailing the contact address below. We may need enough information to verify the request and locate the relevant record. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

Security

No website, email account, hosting provider, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so please avoid sending highly sensitive information through ordinary email.

International visitors

FoodSensei may be operated from, hosted in, or supported by providers located in the United States or other countries. If you access the site from outside your country, your information may be processed in places with privacy laws different from those where you live.

Children

The landing page and waitlist are not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information to FoodSensei, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

If future beta features are intended for younger users or family accounts, we will add the required parental consent and child-privacy disclosures before launch.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as FoodSensei develops, especially when waitlist collection, beta accounts, food logging, photo analysis, integrations, or other app features are added.
